The BBC’s Jonathan Head witnessed distressing scenes as households arrived at a temple to gather victims of a nursery assault in north-east Thailand.

An an ex-policeman killed 37 individuals, 23 of them kids as younger as two, at a childcare centre.

Police say the 34-year-old attacker – an area named Panya Kamrab – then killed his spouse and his step-son, earlier than killing himself after a manhunt.
