Brazil election: Why are the poor voting for Lula?

Brazilians go to the polls on Sunday to elect their subsequent president, in a run-off between left-wing former President Lula da Silva and right-wing incumbent Jair Bolsonaro.

Poverty is a large election concern. Due to Covid and the price of dwelling disaster, numerous Brazilians are struggling financially.

North-eastern Brazil was significantly arduous hit in the course of the pandemic, and within the state of CearĂ¡, many consider Lula is the person with the reply to their issues.
